With uncountable Awards for the Best Music Video, HAGEN DECKER belongs to a group of young, avant-garde directors who have strongly Influenced the field in recent years. On YouTube alone his music videos reach over 850 million views. Since 2012, HAGEN DECKER has also established himself as a director for commercials.
He gave his cinema debut on the red carpet with his feature-length documentary “Immergut – Der Film”, about an open air music festival. The film was sold out in cinemas across Germany and received enthusiastic reviews from the press. The famous ROLLING STONE magazine wrote: “The film is lovely, informative and looks damn good!”
His first commercial “Du kaufst” for Schwäbisch Hall was awarded the Golden Effi for the Best Advertising Campaign. HAGEN’S film “One Thing” for Volkswagen was nominated for the Reklamefilmpreis in the Best Advert category and aired in eleven countries.
In 2016, the Goethe Institute, in cooperation with the German Foreign Office, chose his track record as teaching material for Advertising lessons at their institutes worldwide.
Since 2017, Hagen has been part of an international artist program at the University of Michigan, Detroit. He teaches the students in his lectures film directing, film history and how to survive the chaos in this world…
